We are located half a block East of the traffic light, on the south side of the street. If you come to a second light, you need to turn around. The Nearest traffic light is 35 miles away in another county.
Owners of Happy Jacks Barbeque are Allyn and Sheila Robinson. We are transplants from Texas and have been living and working in northeast Colorado since 1999. Around 2006 we began to build our smoker out of a 1,000-gallon anhydrous tank, that we had been dragging around for years until we had the time to work on it. By 2007 we had it finished and I started smoking meat again for friends, family, and fund raisers. From that activity grew the catering side of the business (R&B Catering), which has grown through the years. Weddings, corporate events, reunions, etc…. have kept us busier and busier.
In 2015 we purchased the property at 130 East Denver in Holyoke and have been using that as our commercial commissary. The latest chapter has us opening the front of the building for dine-in and carry-out service. With the new opening of the restaurant we have changed the name to Happy Jacks Barbeque. Happy Jack was a nick name that my great grandfather Lawrance Bartlett used to call me and we thought it was appropriate to use. The new venture is kind of scary in a way but we like what we do and love to share it. We strive to make your event a success with great barbeque and service. Come by and let us share with you a little bit of Texas.
